EveryAge

An outside read of how five community brands, five domains and one corporate site perform for families searching — and for the AI assistants those families now ask first.

Illustrative review based on public pages, 18 September 2026
52 out of 100 0 100

Solid ministry, real proof points — but the digital front door is split across five domains and the numbers on it disagree with each other.

Where the points went

Scored from pages we actually fetched on 18 September 2026. Where something could not be verified from a public page, it is marked as unverified rather than guessed.

Design & mobileClean, warm, legible templates. But each community site is a separate build — type scale, button style and nav differ brand to brand.
13/20
Speed & tech healthHTTPS valid across everyage.org and the community domains. Page-builder stack carries heavy CSS/JS payloads; no broken links found on the paths we fetched.
9/15
Conversion pathTour booking is phone-only. Homepage CTAs are "Explore," not "Visit." No availability, no online scheduler, and the request form sits on a different domain from where the visitor started.
8/20
SEO basicsHomepage title tag is the single word "EveryAge." Abernethy Laurels' is "Homepage - Abernethy Laurels." Five domains split the authority the ministry has earned since 1961.
10/20
AEO — answer-engine readinessThe same three facts appear with three different values across your own pages. No llms.txt found at the conventional path. FAQ content exists but is buried and unstructured.
5/15
TrustStrongest category. Named C-suite, 1961 incorporation, LeadingAge credential, "Best Place to Work 2026," and a published 93% satisfaction figure. Licensing detail and third-party reviews are absent.

Three findings, with the evidence

Every quote below is copied from a live EveryAge page on 18 September 2026.

1

One ministry, five front doors — and the tour request lives on none of them

Conversion & domain authority

A family that lands on everyage.org and clicks "Explore Abernethy Laurels" leaves your corporate domain entirely. Each Vibrant Life Plan community runs on its own root domain with its own template, its own footer and its own phone number. Sixty-five years of reputation is being divided five ways in Google's index — and an AI assistant has no single authoritative source to summarize.

Homepage CTAs, everyage.org
Explore Abernethy Laurels · Explore Piedmont Crossing · Explore Lake Prince Woods
Each leads off-domain. Verified live, 18 Sep 2026.
Why it costs you: search for "Abernethy Laurels pricing" today and the first page is owned by Seniorly, FamilyAssets and Mirador Living — not by you. Those aggregators are also what AI assistants read when a family asks about your communities, so a lead broker gets to describe your ministry before you do.
2

Your own pages disagree about how big you are

AEO — answer-engine readiness

Three of your most-linked pages publish three different answers to "how many communities does EveryAge have, and how many people do you serve?" A human visitor shrugs. A language model, asked to state a fact about EveryAge, resolves the contradiction by declining to cite you at all — or by citing a directory site that states one confident number.

Homepage hero — everyage.org
EveryAge is recognized as an industry leader among not-for-profit senior living communities with 19 locations serving over 3,500 older adults in North Carolina and Virginia.
About page — everyage.org/about/
more than 2,000 senior adults … around 1,000 team members
https://everyage.org/about/ — headed "Over 50 Years of Service," while the body of the same page reads "Incorporated in 1961" (65 years).
Our Communities — everyage.org/our-communities/
12 named communities — five Vibrant Life Plan communities and seven affordable housing communities.
https://everyage.org/our-communities/ — counted from the page itself.
Why it costs you: 19 locations, 12 named communities, 3,500 adults, 2,000 adults, "over 50 years," 1961. Six numbers, one organization. The fix is not a rewrite — it is picking the canonical set, publishing it once in structured data, and letting every other page reference it.
3

Booking a tour requires picking up the telephone

Conversion path

Your contact page is clear and warm — and it routes every tour request through a phone call during business hours. The adult daughter researching at 10pm on a Tuesday, who is the person actually driving this decision, has nothing to click.

The same page-level thinking shows up in the title tags, which are the one line Google and ChatGPT both read first:

Title tags as published
"EveryAge"  ·  "Homepage - Abernethy Laurels"  ·  "Living Options - EveryAge"
No city, no state, no care level, no "senior living" — in the field that decides the click.
Why it costs you: a self-serve tour scheduler and location-bearing title tags are a fortnight of work between them. Neither requires a redesign, and both are measurable within one reporting month.
03

A 90-day fix sequence

Ordered so the cheapest, highest-yield work lands first. Nothing here requires touching the five community sites' visual design.

30days
Stop the bleeding
  • Agree one canonical fact sheet. Locations, adults served, team members, founding year. One number each, signed off by the exec team.
  • Rewrite every title tag and meta description across all five domains to carry city, state and care level.
  • Publish LocalBusiness / SeniorLivingResidence schema on each community's homepage, with the canonical NAP.
  • Add a real tour scheduler — calendar, not callback — on everyage.org and each community site.
60days
Own the answer
  • Build a genuine FAQ block per community with FAQPage schema: cost structure, care levels, waitlist, pets, Medicare, moving in.
  • Publish an llms.txt at each root, pointing AI crawlers at the canonical facts and care-level pages.
  • Reconcile Google Business Profiles for all locations — the 100 vs 102 Leonard Avenue split is a live disambiguation risk.
  • Answer-ready rewrites of the care-level pages: lead each section with the direct answer, then the warmth.
90days
Consolidate & measure
  • Decide the domain question. Fold the community sites to everyage.org/communities/* with 301s, or formally link them as a hub — either beats today's silence.
  • Claim the pricing query. A transparent cost-explainer page outranks the aggregators that currently own it.
  • Stand up an AI-citation monitor — track what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews actually say about each community, monthly.
  • Wire inquiry-to-move-in reporting so marketing spend is finally attributable to census.
04

How this was scored

Method & limits

This is an illustrative review based on public pages, 18 September 2026. Every score is drawn from pages we fetched ourselves on that date. It is not an audit, and it uses no EveryAge internal data of any kind.

Verified: title tags, meta descriptions, H1s, navigation, published statistics, CTA wording, contact routing, footer NAP, separate community domains, news recency.

Not verified — and therefore not scored against you: Core Web Vitals and real-device load times (we did not run a lab test); Google Business Profile completeness; whether an llms.txt exists at a non-conventional path; state license numbers; any operational, occupancy, staffing or financial figure. We make no claim about EveryAge's operations.

Where we'd start

Because the score lands below 60, we've also sketched what the front door could look like — using EveryAge's own communities, care levels and language. It's a concept, not a proposal.
